ON LOCATION
Painting and sketching on location is a very important part of my process as an artist. I find that it is not only necessary to observe from life, but necessary to absorb the atmosphere which also aids in becoming a better and more diverse creator. I paint plein air and sketch outside as much as I can, and this part of my artistry is very enjoyable. I have shared a small selection of these trips in short videos below, I hope you find them engaging and interesting.
Painting on the Teign Estuary in Devon, England. The tide was out and so the estuary was offering some beautiful reflections, a really beautiful place.
Sketching in the City of Lichfield, England. A very beautiful and interesting place full of history and historic architecture.
Painting at Buckfatleigh Abbey in Devon. A beautiful working Abbey that was a joy to capture.
Painting at Elberry Cove in Paignton, Devon. This is a well know scene in Torbay with an old bathing house.
Painting at Meadfoot beach in Torquay, England. A very beautiful South Devon beach with so much to capture, a really good session.
